From Oakleigh Centre to OC Connections

An exhibition held from 7 February to 20 April 2017. The exhibition featured images and film from an extensive collection of the former Oakleigh Centre, highlighting six decades of change within the disability sector.

The exhibition focused on the group’s journey from its early days as the Mentally Retarded Children’s Welfare Association until today as OC Connections.

A photographic exhibition highlighting the role of women from the Monash community and their achievements.

This exhibition was prepared with the support of History Monash Inc., Waverley Historical Society, Monash Gallery of Art and Barry Plant Oakleigh.

The Purple and Golds: 65 years in the VFA

An exhibition featuring the Victorian Football Association years of Oakleigh Football Club. This colourful exhibition was produced by History Monash Inc. (Oakleigh & District Historical Society) with several artefacts sourced from the community.

Exhibition held from 30 July until 29 September 2015.

Trees to Remember Them By

The exhibition depicted Avenues of Honour in the Chisholm electorate and was produced by History Monash Inc. (then Oakleigh & District Historical Society) with sponsorship by the Department of Veterans Affairs through its ANZAC Centenary Local Grants program.

Clayton Community Festivals

Exhibition held early 2014 to 31 March 2014.

An exhibition of Clayton Community Festivals produced by History Monash Inc. (then Oakleigh & District Historical Society) and derived from the Max Alles Collection. The collection, mainly images, is a wonderful resource collected by Max, a long time Clayton trader, who was once a festival organiser.

The Wall Family: Gardeners and wholesale florists of Oakleigh

Exhibition held from early 2013 to end of April 2013.

The exhibition draws on the story of the Wall family of Oakleigh, a resourceful family engaged in market gardening and best known for Walls' Flower Farm.

Railways East

Exhibition held from 3 July 2012 to 30 September 2012.

An exhibition of the railways from Oakleigh Station east to Gippsland over the steam, electric and diesel eras.

Images, memorabilia and artefacts give an insight into the life and times of those who worked in and travelled on the railways in those periods, the stations and the rolling stock.

Our Libraries: A history of library service in the City of Monash

Exhibition held from January 2012 to March 2012.

Hosted by Monash Federation Centre, the exhibition of photos and memorabilia acknowledged the local library by showing how libraries have changed and developed over the years.The exhibition also celebrated the National Year of Reading 2012.
